What is Creme Brulee?
When baking the creme brulee you will be using a ramekin. If you don’t know what these are I bet you have at least seen them around. Normally these are white (although I have brown ones also) and they have what appears to be ridges down the sides. They are mostly round and approximately 4-5″ across. The most common ones are 2″ deep although the ones I use are traditionally for brulee. They are 1″ deep and 4.75″ across. You can see both of these styles in the picture that follows.
